Are you playing on Hard? If so, change to Normal. Are you playing in Normal? If so, change to Easy. THen you'll get pass the intro, be able to save, and all will be good. There is a thematic reason for you to not be able to save during the intro, but maybe you're not in the mood to take that into account.

The game quite clearly says you you'll have to find out how to save. Hint: you will be able to do so almost at any time after second boss. It is about 30-40 minute mark. Probably 20 on Easy.

That is the prologue section. Just set the game to easy, after you finish that section, you'll be able to save.

In the difficulty settings, it tells you that the very hard setting gives you only one life and Hard disables lock-on (lock-on makes those flying enemies a joke). Normal is recommended and Easy is if you want the game to play itself (Easy mode gives you autoattack upgrades). Hard and Very Hard also make the enemies more aggressive in addition to them dealing more damage. Restart and pick normal to get the hang of things or lower the difficulty then raise it back up after prologue.

Once you get past the prologue/intro, the game opens up and gives you a TON of chances to save: quick saving whenever not in combat or in a mission area, quick saving at access-points around the map, or saving at beds in safe areas.

TL;DR: Play on Normal. You get nothing special at all for playing on harder difficulties-- all the same enemies/bosses and all the same loot. You can also raise the difficulty after the prologue with no drawbacks.
Trust me. Me too I went the same situation as you BUT after many fails, I eventually beat two boss by learning new techniques.

Tips: During combat, try to dodge an enemy when you see their eyes flash (red). It will save you many HP.

Ganacrown is right, Dodge is very important during the game. Proof your controls to see tje right button. As all said, after the prologue. Save will come

This is a classic SE rpg. If you don't like difficulty and story go away.
