Should I play replicant first?

I plan on playing both and I know that automata is extremely seperate from og nier, but would it enhance the experience in any way to play replicant first, like major references or plot lines or anything?

There's going to be a few mentions of stuff from Replicant/Gestalt in Automata, and one of the major plot points in Automata is somewhat spoiled by Replicant/Gestalt.

If you're gonna play both, I'd say you should start with Replicant/Gestalt, as it is the intended order regardless.

Both stories are quite separate anyway and I don't think starting from either would spoil the experience.

While both can be played on their own without any previous knowledge of the other, if you're gonna play both, then starting with Replicant is best, when you'll play Automata you'll get way more reference and call backs, and some minor things might have more impact.
Sill, playing Automata first doesn't detract anything from the game and its narrative, it's just that playing Replicant first adds to it.
