Installed the game, created Documents/My games/Nier Automata folder, pasted save games in this folder but I see nothing happened... Started "New game" with slot 3, but no "save game" folder was created...
How can I input old saves (about 2 years ago) into the current Steam version?
On the Microsoft Store version they're different, configuration folder is "C:\users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\NieR_Automata_PC\", while the save folder should be "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\39EA002F.NieRAutomataPC_n746a19ndrrjg\SystemAppData\wgs\".
It is not a streaming service, but I have no idea if you need to be online to play it.
However, you do need network connectivity on while being actually online to get the true ending of the game, as it's necessary for a crucial game mechanic in the section that leads to that ending.
Also, the achievements are tied to your account, not the game files, so there's no way to get them on both platforms(steam and MS) at the same time.

Awesome! Gonna try that! One question, wouldn it be possible to make a tool, to sync "every" steam to xbox savestate?
I have the problem with a few more games... :(
I'm not sure. I could look into it but I doubt it. It depends on how the save files are layed out, data-wise, on both Steam and MSStore, for any given game. For Automata it's easy, because they are nearly identical, but it doesn't mean it'll be the case for any other games.
I unfortunately also don't have any other game I could try to experiment this with, so it's hard to tell for sure.
