Nier Automata is poop of a PC port and it sold well they should consider making Nier Automata 2
It's...nothing short of a miracle that they got Nier: Automata, with development PLATINUM GAMES no less, to be made. But who knows? My bet is since Nier was the big title to put Yoko Taro on the map, they are going to continue with the Nier series and leave Drakengard alone.
But who knows?
Also, Nier Reincarnation(the next main game in the series) is already a thing.
Oh the sad days where a mobile game is considered a main game. Sigh.
Drakengard was in a parallel universe has multiple endings 5th ending is very important to understand it all.
Drakengard 2 was a spinoff story revolves around Nowe, a boy raised by the dragon Legna, fighting against a tyrannical faction of knights, encountering characters from the previous game and becoming entangled in the fate of the world.
Drakengard 3 takes place roughly one hundred years before the events of Drakengard
Nier Replicant The game is a spin-off from the Drakengard series, and follows the fifth ending of the first game, the events of which have left the planet Earth in a state of decay. Set over one thousand years after this, the game puts the player in control of the titular protagonist Nier, as he attempts to find a cure for an illness, known as the Black Scrawl, to which his daughter Yonah has succumbed. Partnering with a talking book known as Grimoire Weiss, he journeys with two other characters, Kainé and Emil, as he attempts to find a remedy and understand the nature of the creatures known as Shades that stalk the world.
Nier Automata It is a sequel to the 2010 video game Nier, itself a spin-off and sequel of the Drakengard series.
I hope this straightens everything out. If you all didn't get to play the old ones.
I mean FF 8 was considered the worst FF of the pre Ps2 era yet they wasted resources "remastering" it.
I'm hoping the success of Replicant will fet them to put the Drakengard games on steam as I never played them and I'd like to see the story start to finish xD
and automatamade people more interested in it so it's getting the remake.
Even though loosely connected by plot, Drakengard 1 & 3 is still substantially important lore to how the 2 NieR titles come to be. If anything, I’d love even a remake that addresses the weaknesses of both titles, and configures them to today’s standards and storytelling NieR had perfected. Drakengard is literally how the games come to exist in the first place, and as much as I appreciate it’s very…VERY brief cameo in the Automata anime (showing Angelus’s skewered body on Tokyo Tower during the scene they find the tower of TV’s in the theme park), and how the entire mother’s diary parts in Replicant dedicated a good chunk of the worlds destruction to the death of Caim & Angelus along with the mother beast, even including weapons modeled after Angelus’s multiple stages herself, it would benefit the fanbase to experience NieR’s roots in a modern day Drakengard release. I doubt it’ll happen, but after its slight inclusions in the anime and NieR: Replicant diary entries, it brings me some peace knowing it still isn’t forgotten.
