I played it on ps4 pro at release but there are a lot of drops in frame rate. Does the pc version maintain a stable 60fps? From what I hear the ps4 version on ps5 is close to being stable 60fps.
Never played it on consoles so no idea how it compares.
Higher than 60 fps? Does that break any of the games mechanics? Can you play at 120fps or better on pc?
Unfortunatly not you can unlock the framerate, but the assets wern't designed for anything higher then 60fps and you can get missions what 'break'
That's unfortunate, I would definitely prefer to play at 120fps. Thanks
Also, there is some specific gameplay sections(hacking, which will become a main mechanic at some point) are tied to framerate, so playing at 120 means double the speed.
There are some instances where playing at higher than 60 won't cause issues, but that only happens if the framerate is always and constantly stable without a single dip, and since this port is not well optimized and some users can experience issues even with recent high-end hardware, there's no guarantee.
Plus, cutscenes are pre-rendered 30fps videos(this is true for all platforms). On PC they can be replaced with some fanmade interpolated 60fps ones via FAR mod, but to enable them you need to unlock the framerate, potentially leading to the issues i mentioned earlier.
I think if you play on 4K 60fps, PS5 would be better.
(If you have RTX3080 or better, PC might be OK too)
1080p 60fps would be about same.
PC can be better with enough hardware support.
I think I had problem with 1440p on PC (PS4 does not support 1440p).
PC version with FAR mode can unlock camera, it is nice feature to take screenshot like Ansel.
Good part is this game+DLC are included in Game Pass.
Both could be maximized to 4K 60fps.
Some games like FF7R is capped 30 fps and no benefit except resolutions.
The PS4 version should naturally run better on PS5, but the visuals will still remain 1080p as the PS4 pro version tops off at that resolution. The PS5 won't add in any enhancements when you are playing this game through backwards compat on it. If the devs make a patch of sorts for this version to run 4k on PS5, this issue could be solved. But I don't expect them to patch based on their track record for the PC version here.
I think the Xbox One X version got the 4k treatment and since the new Series X and S consoles are better than the Xbox One X hardware wise and is backwards compatible to the Xbox one X, this game should naturally run better and have the 4k enhancements and other stuff carry over to the Series X and S.
So I guess the best version to play would be to run the Xbox One X version through backwards compatible mode either on the Series X or Series S consoles.
the PC version with the FAR mod will still hold advantage for its ability to customize the visuals and adjust the performance over these versions.
