Did the patch ever come?

Yes and it was everything we'd ever hoped for. It was from 3D Realms, creators of Duke Nukem Forever and with a license to create Half-Life 3.

The patch fixed every known bug (and some we didn't know about) and improved gameplay and graphics in ways you have to see to believe. The sheer breathtaking quality of it all will humble almost anyone as you are being moved to tears by the improved dialog and expanded cutscenes.*

Damn, that sucks, mostly just wanted the environment load in fixed mostly

Maybe one day when Squenix does not want to mantain an Denuvo auth server they remove it from the game, and maybe if there's enough interested amateur dev/hackers they coud do what bethesda fans do, unofficial patches.

It would be awesome, let's all hope it happens someday.

Highly unlikely, Square has already been moving away from Denuvo and removed it from some of their most recent games (like life is strange) but older games still are (and most likely will remain) with Denuvo.
