Why are some instances of "♥♥♥♥" censored and some aren't? (SPOILERS)

The most obvious example is Adam's OS level conversation with 9S when he kidnaps him and takes him to the Copied City, "You're thinking about how much you want to **** 2B, aren't you?"
But then, when you get either or both endings C and D, a report from Jackass is found in your Archives where she says "we've been living in a stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ world", and "♥♥♥♥ you", both uncensored.
I get that Adam's line is sexual and Jackass' letter isn't but... it's an M rated game... so...

Considering what happens throughout the game, and 9S's mental state at the end, who's to say it could be something else.

Because the censored word is not the F word, or rather, it could be that, or it could be a lot of other words, with the most "accepted" ones being f word or "kill", but still, the word is meant to be censored as a way to not let you know what word it is, not because it's a word that ends up being censored.

No, and could it be something else? Yes, so it's nothing more than a censored word for the purpose of it being not known.
You or anyone else can speculate it's kill and give your reasons, like you did, and your reason might be logical and even correct(to an extent, there are many reasons why 9S easily killed 2B clones at that point in route C), my point is simply that concluding with certainty that the censored word is "kill" is wrong, because there are as many other reasons for it to be a lot of other words, so the only real conclusion we can reach is that it's intentionally impossible to know for sure.

Adding to this, another argument for the censored word NOT being the f word is exactly the point you brought up:if the word were the F word and was censored for this reason, then all other instances of the same word would be censored as well, but as you pointed out, that's not the case, so this is an indication that the F word wouldn't have been censored, hence it's most likely not the F word.

It sure is nuts. If You know other things related to the game and the universe it gets even worse. Some things are only mentioned.

It's also a way to break the 4° wall because, you as a player, will fill this censored blank space by what you want at this moment. It pretty smart, because, at this moment, the game doesn't talk about 9S, but you, and your desire.

So, it can be "kill", but it can be the F word.. and it can rescue, or, help.. o save.. or, anything you want. Because, i only up to you, in fact. That why the F work isn't censored at other moment, because, it wasn't about censored a pegi 18 contain, to let you, as an human, give a meaning of this moment.


So, Everyone have right when they said is Kill, or the F word..or anything they want.. Because, the sentence was a question about the things they had in their mind, at this moment.

What's also why this game is incredible, because, it's designed for talking to each one, and question about "yourself" and why you are human.



Take this game for what is it.. And, thinks outside the box..Nier automata take a lot of different gameplay, and a lot of "point of view".. it's another clue to encourage you, as a player, to have more than 1 point of view of the story, to don't just only look with the eyes of the character, but to look on the game with multiple point of view.
