Statistiche:
Latest nvidia driver (445.75) - the game runs very bad XD
GTX 1060 (6GB)

Settings:

resolution 1080p (with the dxgi.dll)
AA: off
motion blur: off
v-sync: on
Shadow: high

53~57 fps sometime 60 with the 445.75
57~60 fps with the 441.87

I hope someday Nvidia will make a dedicated driver update for this game...

(P.S. I don't want to use Far)

EDIT: please don't tell me to use Far, I already explained why.

You can see plenty of complaints about the recent driver there. Doesn't look like 445.78 has fixed things.

Why not? Especially since, beside the obvious fixes, it allows you to tweak Global Illumination from the default "ultra" to the much less demanding "high" without any visual impact, and it has a huge impact on performance and fps.

Because I already finished the game, I have over 100 hours, with Far.
Without Far it's just almost the same experience for me.
It all depends by nvidia drivers......

None of it makes any sense.

Neither you.

Mine is not a question, but a notice. I can install Far in any moment. But I hate this way to fix the problem since the nvidia driver is the real culprit.
This game is demanding, it's not a driver problem it's a 'I dont want to use Far even though it fixes the game' problem

The issue though is that, unless this latest nvidia driver has other performance issues and thus they will quickly release a new fixed version, there is no way nvidia will make a dedicated driver update exclusively for a 2017 badly optimized game, especially wheneven if others user have the same issues you're having, they're most likely already using FAR and thus are not even noticing the issue at all due to the better framerate they get thanks to the global illumination setting, and if theydon't notice it, they won't report it.
The result is that, figuratively, you're the only one with this issue(other hypothetical users complaining about this will prove me wrong of course), so there's no way for what you wish to happen.
So, while wating for the new updated driver version hoping the issues will be fixed in it, the only practical, while not optimal, solutions to your issue are to either revert back to the previous driver version, or use FAR.

tl;dr
your issue is so isolated and on a bad optimized game that there is no way nvidia will address it and do what you hope for, so either use FAR or revert to the old driver, or keep the issue.

I'll keep the issue, I'm just trying various drivers, and I hope someday they will release a good driver for this game, or Square Enix will fix everything before the release of the new NieR:Replicant remake/remaster.

It's not only a question of bad optimized game, but it's also a driver problem.
It's so strange, a GTX 1060 runs worst than an R9 380...

Using Far is pointless now, I already wrote it in the first post.
Again, I already 100% this game with Far installed. No need to play with rock solid 60 fps now.
Just testing.

I want to delete this topic, people here don't understand english.
Next time I will write in Japanese.

Just set global illumination in FAR to medium, that will do it.

Best answare so far, thank you!
I'm awaiting for a driver with the best performance for DX11 games like this one.
399 is the best for Pascal, but don't have the new features like sharpening and raytracing.

The last few drivers from nvidia have been rushed out as "game ready" even though they introduce alot more issues than drivers before that. Usually it takes around a month or two for a new driver.. but the past two came out within one week for Doom and HL: Alyx.. this is just a mess.

Welcome to why I don't like Game-Ready Driver releases.
I didn't have the issue, and have the same card. Didn't use FAR either, rock solid 60 fps at all times. But i used Borderless Gaming. Before that i used FAR because it made sense on my 660 TI when i had it, not that it changed anything because i locked the game to 30 frames back then on highest, even if i lowered everything down i couldn't get 60 frames even with FAR. But yeah, the drivers sometimes go haywire. I remember it clearly how they fixed PREY and then released another driver which made the game microstutter again (which was fixed with the previous driver).
