Mouse cursor problems with FAR (using kb/m scheme)
trying the game out, using FAR mod and apparently it automatically hides the ingame cursor. Is there a way to hide windows 10 cursor in the overworld (like how any third person game does) but keep a cursor visible during menus (preferably the ingame one) ?

right now i can either constantly play with a cursor in the overworld and menus or no cursor at all.

also in fullscreen borderless.

I do not recall writing any such feature for this game.

Special K, the underlying framework the mod is built on, has many input-processing options to correct cursor behavior in games. This game did not require any of those to be turned on and the shipping configuration should not include any changes to mouse cursor.

You may wish to try the available input options under Input Management | Mouse Cursor.

I do not know what version of Special K FAR is built on anymore.

There is special behavior in the game where the mouse cursor stops being visible if a gamepad is plugged in and you are outside of menus. I did not create this behavior, but I can offer a possible override.

There may or may not be a section referred to as "Enable / Disable Devices" under Input Management. If that section exists, you can make the game change its mouse cursor behavior by completely disabling gamepad support.

If that section is not there, I can give you a beta key to use the latest release of Special K on Steam, it includes the FAR mod as well as 3 years of additional development since this all happened :)

In FAR options, have the Input Management section set like this[i.imgur.com], this way the Windows cursor will be visible in game menus, but will stay hidden when in the overworld.
I have no idea on the in-game cursor instead of the Windows one though, I installed FAR as soon as I saw the game not displaying at the correct ratio(hence before actually starting the game), so I never even seen the game cursor cause I use a gamepad.

Just FYI, ReShade and some other software is also known to mess with the mouse cursor. The custom version I distribute as an option with FAR should avoid those problems, but the official release's input processing code has problems (or did 3 years ago... I cannot speak re: updated versions).

Using the above settings did not hide the cursor in the overworld. it seems having the far mod ui active (even minimized) will always have the cursor on. With the Input Overhaul mod and FAR, i can make the cursor centered on screen in 3rd person and the drone point to the cursor in 2d.

Is FAR still needed nowadays?

Nothing changed since it was first needed, so yes.
There is always the chance you won't(there are some people who have no issues without FAR), but it's still recomended.

i have the same problem. the mouse cursor won't even show up. its been like 2 years but at that time i already finish the game using controller first. especially when i press ALT + Z it show nvidia overlay but as soon i close it. my mouse won't function at all the only solution is turn on my controller or exit the game and open it again but this time i won't press ALT + Z everything work find. if i accidentally press alt + z there won't mouse cursor and it won't work. No, my mouse isn't broken it work perfectly find and its brand news one.
