And please no, not NiEr gestalt, Replicant is the way to go
I still need to finish C route, I lost interest halfway through it and haven't been back to play the rest.
I still think the game is great though. Aside from how bad the PC port is and how I can't trust Square Enix on PC ever since this game released.
Ok, good start!
Oh. Well, that escalated quickly.
If all it takes for you to be manipulated into making decisions is to read a single biased post filled with blatant factual bullsh*ttery written in spite of absolute lack of understanding of the game which holds absolutely no weight, and ignoring millions of objective comments and positive experiences of other players, then yeah, you not buying this game would be a blessing for everyone. And I should actually thank the OP for weeding out more likeminded individuals of their kind.
I still think the best battle is the prologue because every dumb move counts and items are limited.
You didn't just title drop the first NieR game in order to make your review seem more credible, did you? ;)
The central theme of this game is nihilism, so you got that right. the dlc ending cements that theme to the ground
Guys just let the man vent out his anger. I think he had a set of expectations before playing the game that was not satisfied after finishing it. Let's just leave it at that.
I also felt route C was rushed, since ♥♥♥♥ was coming from all directions. The main characters didn't had time to process their emotions since the machines were doing crazy stuff and it is their initial instinct to protect humanity and its legacy. For 9s the lost of 2B, who was his only purpose for living after finding out that humanity is extinct and the whole YorHa organization, his very identity, is meaningless. For A2, it is the lost of Pascal's village. After shutting herself out from everyone because of her loss during Pearl Harbor Descent, she found something new to cherish, the machines at pascal's village. Which was taken away from her quickly as the machine network and N2 went crazy. It is tragic, but being a weary, battle-scared fighter that she is, she just shove away her emotions. A little easter egg, after deciding to erase Pascal's memories, you could go to Pascal's village as A2 and talk to Pascal. And another thing, you get a note after finishing either ending D or C which can be found in the Intel tab under archives. That makes everything even more meaningless. It is called "machines research report". Other intel archives to support these are the "(top secret)" archives. Those stuff was made like as an optional stuff but felt like necessa to game's story I still liked it though. Given a choice, I wouldn't want to see 9S to suffer more or A2 falling into depression , if you know what I mean.
Nothing more useless than an ancient thread being reanimated for absolutely no reason. Even worse when the one who did it has their account set to private, making it impossible for anyone else to see if they even own the game they're whinging about.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i just want to be badass and fight tough enemies for a while! stop switching my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ character! stop shutting down the shop for massive sections of the story! stop taking away my heavy attack when forcing me to be 9s! stop stop stop! just let me ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ play your game!
.. reaches playthrough 3 and is severely punished for not grinding enough... not grinding enough in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 40 hour game?! this entire game is a grind! and not a good kind! playthrough 2 was such a waste of my life but so worth it when i got to be A2, but then you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ made me be 9S again! ♥♥♥♥ off!!!!
stop making me complete 30 minute segments without a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ save
stop making me complete huge portions with no access to a place to buy health
stop forcing me to walk, to find my body, to create arbitrary game play time
... oh thanks you suddenly changed the save mechanic, thank you soo--- instant game over!!! whats the ♥♥♥♥!
i just want to play your game :,( :,( :,( but you ruin it so much!!! its so infuriating and not because its hard like dark souls, which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as well but for a different reason... this game is infuriating because it forcefully makes you spend 20+ hours playing a game you dont want to play. who the ♥♥♥♥ thought of this?
for example, the part where you are a giant robot fighting the other giant robot... i dont care! it wasnt fun! it wasnt relevant to the story! it was utterly worthless and risked making me game over and have to grind back to where i was. did the guy who made this game even ask a single tester if they were having fun?!
♥♥♥♥ nier, ive wasted 40 hours of my life that i will never get back, and i chalk this up to the utter decline of gaming as we know it
ive never had a game leave me feeling so genuinely sad... like i spent 100 hours watching a movie i didnt like because i thought the good part was coming, and it never came. im an adult, with children and a job, that kind of wasted time is not trivial. i genuinely HATE nier automata. ♥♥♥♥ you for catfishing me, absolute garbage
i have a suspision the devs were amazing, conisidering how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good the combat is, the music, the wepaons, the cut scenes, the graphics... etc... but it was led by an insane lunatic of a project manager. "oh are our players having fun with sword combos as 2B? take away 70% of their attacks, make them play as a new character, and start the game over! theyll love it!"
