Battle the goliaths in the city without flight gear!

Just discovered this.

After delivering the viscous oil to Pascal, the golliaths show up in the city. Normally, the story quest requires that you travel to the flight units to beat this mission. Along the way, the first goliath attacks you through the building, knocking out a part of the wall in the process, then a fight ensues. After defeating it, you proceed to the flight units, then fly to the other goliath you passed on the way, and defeat it.

However, I just discovered it is possible to kill BOTH of them, from the ground!

At level 99 (i know. way over powered. YEAH YEAH), with a fully upgraded pod b (laser pod), I was able to stand between their legs, and, by looking up and firing the laser up towards the upper legs and releasing the pods' special attack (the bullets that richochet around), I was able to do enough damage to bring them down within about 5-10 seconds each. Concievably, one could do this with only the second upgrade for pod b, or at a lower level, or with any other weapon that can reach high enough to hit the goliath's hit box.

While doing this, i noticed that from the ground, you can see several yorha flight units fighting the goliaths. After destroying them in this manner, they relay a message to you, and give you a special reward.

Once you destroy them both in this manner, you then proceed to the flight units (the wall in the building remains intact), and the quest ends succesfuly when you get to them.

Hey, nice find!

Replaying the game right now and wanted to try it after reading your post. I was around lvl 42, and killed them in about 1min of firing the gatling pod (no upgrades) each on route B.

You don't need to be overleveled. Simply get near the goliath (away from its feet) and fire pod at it. Just keep firing and avoid missiles if machine fires them at you. After some time it will go down
