Machine Cores after boss fights - autopicked up if interrupted by cutscene?

Hey everybody,

I just finished amusement park and the city is now under attack by the Goliaths. When fighting the Opera Boss, after i defeated her i noticed the machine core on the ground. I ran over to pick it up but was interrupted by a cutscene and when it was over the machine core was no longer on the ground. I already had some machine cores on me but i dont know how many so i dont know for sure if the machine core i saw was auto-picked up. So i wanted to ask if that is the case for fights where bosses drop it but you are given little to no time to pick it up because a cutscene interrupts it.

I also just finished fighting the Goliath in the City Ruins that breaks through the wall when you reach the top floor of a building. When i killed it i just happened to look at the ground below and i saw a machine core so i jumped down to grab it too. If i had ignored it and kept going to the flight suits would it have automatically gone into my inventory or would it have just sat on the ground and become lost just like any other piece of pick up loot?

Pretty sure they're lost. It's not that important, though, you can get tons of them later in the game.
