Actually, in french, there is a verb, "nier", that is pronouced n-i-e, and means "deny". And the word "noire" is french, it's the feminine form of "noir", "black" in english.

In all seriosness though, nier is a more appropriate term, Noire has become saturated by the American market as meaning only that all is to end in horrer and disperity. Neir has at least captured the Imagination as being a rout to hope and the establishment of a greater good. I would like to hear arguments base on that above the average ♥♥♥♥-posting.
