Out of the three playable characters, you end up playing 9S (who is male) the most.

actually all are androids or robots, so what the matter about gender? when all are more or less machines. where androids are once build by humans and the so called machine are made be the aliens as far as the game explains. emotions are emulated to some degree on both.

You can play as a seemingly male character for about half the length of the game, if that's what you're asking. But honestly, it shouldn't be a big deal for N:A has such superb plot and storytelling, that the player character's gender shouldn't even matter.

That depends a bit on how many subquests you do as 2B

Not at all. If the gender doesn't matter for story elements, etc. , I would rather like to play an good looking character. Most of the time those are female, for like 97% of the playtime (like playing Monster Hunter, Dark Souls, etc.). It's an hassle defending any position, but I would rather:

- look badass/cool when playing a game
OR
- look at some female ass bouncing around, compared to... some male ass... (which is not really gay, but... I prefer women)

There is a mod around the internet that allows you to change the appearance of the character you are using if you are interested in that stuff.
