lvl 99 too high of a level?

currently running through the game again for all of the side quests, but seeing as i'm level 81 most of the enemies die in one hit.

aside from Very Hard, is there anything that would make being at such a high level fun?
(i have it on ps4 which is why it's not in my library)

The point of high level is the colosseum in the DLC.

The scaling design of the game (or lack of) is pretty poor. One method to "debuff" yourself is to remove chips.

I'm thinkin' of using cheat engine to go back to level 1 and replay the game on normal or hard... and so on. Because I already finished all side quests, and unit data 100%, and weapons/pods 100%. It's my way of playing NeiR New game +.

so why not just start a new game at that point? Enemies still scale to your level at the beginning which would make them all die in 1 hit from a fully equipped character regardless of level

Not necessary to use cheat engine. In fact, there are items from the DLC that basically reduces your level by increments of 10 iirc.

EDIT: also I dont get why you'd go back to level 1 to replay when everything is already completed ... might as well just make a new game

Costume unlocks are not available in a new game.

Right! Also after beating a certain point in the flooded city arena, you get 10 forbidden fruit which decreases your level by 10 after each use.

It´s specific to that quest. And it´s... a troll reward. But go ahead and use them then try to fight the last boss or Eve with level 10. It will be "fun". As fun as painting your face in honey and diving in an anthole.

I honestly cant remember whether you get those from the flooded city colosseum or some other one tho

Flodeed city is the only colloseum that gives troll´ items
