Was thinking about it a bit lately, did Yoko Taro say in an interview why he decided to make the most archetypical male-female couple in human history a gay couple?

Because if you look closely... I don´t think I ever saw something crazier in a mainstream game. I thought about RPGs even from the 90s and still couldn´t find something similar. And there isn´t even a real plot reason to do it - why Eve couldn´t be a woman? Is it just an excuse to give fujoshis yaoi material and freedom to make YoRHa a lesbian heaven?

Also I think funny that the character that is most associated with women "traits" like being emotional and soft was put on a guy while 2B is so bad ass. "Dependant Weakling"... damn that´s one nasty name for a theme song lol.

I get the feeling that the characters were invisioned before they were named. As eve comes from a wound in adams side, It seem that they desided to call them adam and eve because of it. It may have even been a paceholder name before the game was anounced, and they just decided to roll with it. As for the phisiology, the lore is a bit vauge, but it seems they can just deside on either or. The androids can, and the brothers are implied to be of similar design to them.

Quite unlikely. Have a look at Yoko Taro's system of storytelling and plot formation.

Adam and Eve were the machines' first attempt to create their own robots in the image of humans, and taking on the names of the first two human beings according to their archaeological findings (i.e. the Bible), along with superficial vain attempts to mimic their behaviour and culture as was written without properly understanding the context and truth.

You really got to look past a name choice that is explained in the game as to why it is there. Their names aren't about sex, but birth and mimicry.

Ouch. You think I'm unfimilliar with the Bible and Yoko Taro? I think I've been shot!

Joking aside, it's just my two cents on it, make what conclusions you want. I do think they have a lot more impact on the games universe as a whole than the just small tantrums they had though. I don't have any good theorys yet, but I'm looking ito it. I get the weird feeling that they had some form of existance before they were "born". And of course there's the cult of the watchers symbol on Eves "dark side". And who knows what that is. Maybe because his brother died he went through a process similar to a shade/gestalt? could make sense if he housed more "soul" than his brother. He did seem more like a self-preservation mechinism rather than a intentionaly created beeing. Anyway, I'm sure I'm reading way too much into it now. I should probably get a redit account and type my thoughts all over that instead.
