How to unlock "Emil's Determination"?

I need some people who have experience guide me for that. The problem is I already help Emil find out lunar tears and also defeated him outside his house. I try follow and use the method shown by youtuber but it didnt work. So how? Should I start the new game all over again?

And Speed Star is very hard to me also.

Supposing you have upgraded every weapon, you may have to play around with chapter select to see which chapter works for triggering Emil.

Speedstar is easy with movement speed chips. 18% should be good along with the speed salve.

Hmm based on my"Intel", my weapon stories has reached 72%. There is some weapons I haven't maximized yet but Im not sure I have obtain all types of weapons or not. Oh yes, in both flooded city and city ruin (nearby factory), I remember I had saw some locked boxes is placing on high building but it is too difficult to me to approach them. When I try to approach to next building but the distances is very far between 2 buildings . Or maybe you haven't see it I don't know.

For side mission, only left speed star and 4S mission, my unit data already reached 93%

For [Speed Star] race, you can try to farm for the most efficient combo of Moving Speed Up chips. 2x level 3

Yes, I also the fan of DOD. I only know DOD via YouTube, but I don't have ps 3 console == Instead I have downloaded "rpcs3" but installation is very complicated , so I will watch YouTube. Once I install it successfully then I will play DOD series and also Nier Replicant.

Sorry to necro-post, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere, so I figured I'd post it here for anyone still playing this game. As DeadByLag said, accessing this quest can be confusing, because it's only available during very specific subchapters. 2B and 9S can access Emil's Determination at the start of subchapter 06-04 with no extra effort. 9S can access the quest on his own during 13-01, 13-02, and 13-04. A2 can access the quest at the start of 14-01. There's likely other subchapters as well, but I can confirm that it's unavailable as 2B without 9S.

As a general warning, if you complete this quest before getting ending Y by failing the timed portion of this sidequest, getting that particular ending becomes impossible.
