Wise machine at the top of the tower (possible spoilers)

I hacked it twice so it exploded. Have i missed anything extremely important?

There's two more. You just have to hack each one to complete the sub-plot.

You only need to hack them once (you can hack them twice, but as you've discovered, it's just a normal hack that blows them up).

Yeah but since one is dead it's over. Was it something useful, or just some fancy useless sub-plot?

IIRC, killing one won't break the plot.

They'll respawn when you get chapter select (they actually always come back even if you fully complete the sequence), so you can't actually miss anything.
