With skipping the side quests you will be severely underleveld for route B and C since those start at fixed enemy levels. Also a lot of things like upgrade materials you need are coming from side quest rewards.
You dont have to do all of them but i would finish the majority.
Not to forget: lot's of good story content is tucked into many side quests.
The side quests are definitely worth doing. At first, they may just seem like annoying little time-wasters that are only there to give you loot and experience, but many of them are connected to the overarching story, and will add a lot of context to it. The side quests are also where a large portion of development occurs for the characters, as they learn more about the world and the machines.
Believe it when people tell you that the side quests are almost as important, if not equally important, as the main quest, if you're interested in getting the most out of the story.
And as said they are crucial to rhe main srtory and above all - WEAPONS and crafting msterials
Your pod tells you to go to the Resistance camp to get an scanner installed to find Android signals. Do that, ( its a short questline) then go back to the Flooded City (Coast) to scan for traces of 9S.
Thanks Ogami. I got the scanner installed but there wasn't a marker so i was lost.
