So, how much maso is in the world?

After finally watching a lot of lore from Drakengard as a whole (including game 3, which is the first game in the time line)...

Considering that only dragons could really destroy that energy, is it possible that the amount of maso in the Earth is still the same as in 2003?

Reason I think there is a lot is because there is no explanation for Adam to focus so much on hatred, not to mention other obvious clues like red eyes and the Watchers´ tattoo on angry Eve, as well as how long the Legion managed to exist. Mabe it could be a factor in the sequel?
