Stuck at the begining, need to go to the desert
Hi,
I am at the begining of the game, after returning to the earth after killing the goliath, I discovered the resistance camp, completed both side quests and need to go to the desert to kill some robots.
However I have no idea where to go, I've been looking for more than an hour.
There's an area at the resistance camp but it's locked, and at the north there is a bridge with some high level robots and a dead end (some kind of old mall).
I have the marker which tells me where to go but can't find a way.

Also I often see these locked chests, what do I need to open them ?

I don't want to look up on the internet because I feel I'll get spoiled.

Thanks.

Just leave the resistance camp. Like literally just walk outside the camp, you should get a call from your operator and she will give u a waypoint then.
edit: just follow your waypoint, unfortunately without knowing where exactly you are, its very hard for me to guide you through text, espcially since u dont really know your way around yet :(

I had this. I'm sure I'm wrong but I can't find any way to reach that marker.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed with the game right now, very very few battles, lots of empty spaces, poor gameplay (2 types of attacks per weapon, mash and charge).
Soundtrack is great though.

edit : I think I need to go back to the first factory. I'll try that.

edit 2 : nvm, found the entrance when going back. But it wasn't indicated on the map...

in case u didnt know the main quest wants you to go to the desert, the main quest icon looks like a red triforce (3 or 4 triangle like symbol) and the small red dots are either side quests or access point locations. Make sure you are following the right icon, wouldnt want u feeling dumb for following the wrong thing lol

the gameplay is the best its ever been in the drakengard/nier series. Albiet not perfect, but still pretty good. As for the empty spaces, thematically it makes sense, you are playing in a post apocalyptic setting afterall, cant imagine too much life is left on earth, but also budget cuts too i imagine. Automata didnt have a huge budget to work with the way that HZD and other similar open world games did. The story and characters are what sell this game. The story and characters and how they interact with each other is amazing. Definitely keep playing imo for the story.

Just got this game and it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brilliant, loving every minute so far (apart from the intro, which took me ages to get through..... kept dying at the last bit!!) and you weren't able to save progress, so as you all know, had to start from scratch :-(
Puts me in mind of Xenoblade & Bayonetta which can't be AT ALL bad!!!
GREAT GAME

Ofc I need to play more, I'm not dissing the game. I was expecting the game to have more beat em all mechanics with lots of combos, that's why I am surprised.
But I can see the the RPG elements add depth.
I am enjoying the game for now, even though I have a pretty good idea of what the scenario revolves into and what will happen. (hope i'll be wrong though)

It's true that the combat is fairly simple, but it's likely intentional since the combat isn't the focus of the game. If you enjoy the combat a bit and want something more complex and demanding, it might be worth checking out Bayonetta. You'll recognize some (or a lot) of the mechanics but learning the combat is more "the game" there compared to Nier.

Not at all saying Nier is a worse game because of it though. I was still itching to beat dudes up for my entire playthrough.
