missing difficulty
Hi, I feel like this game missing difficulty between normal and hard. I wasnt able to beat stupid tutorial on hard coz that arm one shot me but on normal it was way too easy. The jump between difficulty is way too big i would apprecitate difficulty in between of those two.

tutorial is not supposed to be hard because you can't save at all until you get to bunker.
The game does get harder as you go on.

the game doesnt get harder. As lvl 20 im beating lvl 32-40 so....
Rocket Apr 16, 2017 @ 7:09pm
it's not about the level of the enemy. some enemies are harder to hit.

for example monk-bot lvl 40 is ez. did u ever try difference between normal and hard? coz the dmg multiplier is around 3x

I feel like the best way to play this game is to start on normal and then switch to hard when you get overfarmed with side quests. I did go back to normal for some of the harder boss sequences.

I own the game on ps4 and been playing there. OP is right about the starter lvl. I cant agree that hard is too hard though, only the flight units sections/tutorial are difficult at hard mode.

Start a fresh game from scratch on hard and you all will see. Anything can one hit kill you in the tutorial on ur first try and you gotta start the WHOLE intro/tutorial all over again.

This is a good idea here. Play normal then go into the options and go hard from then on. There is no achievement for playing on only hard.

Not to brag but i never dropped the difficulty when i played on my first time. I turned it to hard my first time and never touched it again till i finished the game till ending E.

However that meant spending SEVEN HOURS, trying to beat the tutorial (which i know since the game insists on you loading a save every time you fail and get those fast credits...). I finally beat it and after that the rest of the game was cake on hard.
The only threatening parts are the missions with the flight units since those are the only enemies that scale to your level and all defense chips dont work. Only hp chips do and even then since enemies scale in lvl you only need 2 hits to die even if having 100% more hp.

I always found the monk to be really easy. it's simple to predict his attacks and you can set up your chips so that damage is mitigated really well. Other types of enemies become a bit more challenging. sometimes when there is a big horde it can be more difficult. sometimes there is a different type which is kinda like an elite monster who has really high defence and hits really hard. other times there is a type that doesn't show much setup for an attack and harder to predict their movements. when you're not fighting machine lifeforms it can be a bit trickier because maybe they don't do the red eyes flash thing. I find that the game isn't as finely tuned as some other games, but the beauty is, you can change from normal, to hard to easy at any time. just go into the options. if you're having it too easy, switch it to hard until you come to a point where you find it a bit of a struggle.

R.I.P. i give up after half an hour when i start playing worse and worse i switched to normal. There you actually feel how is the difficulty set. On normal that arm will take you around 35-40% of hp on hard 100%. So standard multiplier 1.5-1.8 would suit "hard" difficulty more. And i dont wanna switch from normal to hard coz of side missions like parade where those bots get killed before you have even chance to aggro anything.

You can play the mission on normal then. I'm just giving friendly advice that will improve your gameplay experience.

I agree 50%.yes the dificulty curve skyrockets from normal to hard, but for me 95% of that is because you lose the ability to Lock on targets.that is lame.

Take hard games Like Furi,Dark souls,Nioh.imagine playimg them without the ability to Lock on targets.for me,It was a huge mistake.

Now , normal is super easy. I have to artificially raise the dificulty.like not using skills (auto this, autothat),buying no more than 10 meds.it is not Fun.

However i found out that the homing missiles still Lock on the target even on hard.what i Really needed was to be able to Lock my Spears attack.

If locking is patched in the Future,i would play this game again on hard for sure

I actually agree that removing the lock on for hard was a questionable decision. Really shows when you have to hack without the lock on. Didn't break the game for me, but I definitely see where you are coming from with your post.

I completely agree Op. I just made a thread abou this. I was a little mad to find that Hard mode grants you no Rewards. *sigh*
Ragna Apr 18, 2017 @ 12:43pm
2 hit deaths are ,at least for me a minor problem. Not being able to lock on targets , a major one.But i agree , it did not break the game for me and I still like it a lot.But there is no sense of true victory without a true challenge.

Imagine playing some games on hard mode

civilization you can´t use long range attacks
street fighter , you can´t use special attacks
resident evil you can´t save
final fantasy you cant level up, etc......

of course you can still finish the games , but fun becomes as bad as work.
The soul series NG+ style of dificulty scaling is so much smarter.

just make the game a lot harder , but don´t limit the player resources
Saphirro Apr 18, 2017 @ 1:58pm
well 2 hits are for minor enemies every larger even on normal take you around 35-50% not mention some around 80%(and i have boost hp chips) so if you multiply it by 3x(hard) its IK. I feel like they boostd dmg but not other aspects. Like if they boost dmg by 1.7x and hp by 1.7x and defense by 1.6x its much wiser and you still get the multiplier 3x just spread around all stats. BTW lock on in this game is weird. For me it wont keep fixed camera on locked target which means sometimes it lock target behind me for some reason even when im faced to different enemy.
obstructor Apr 18, 2017 @ 2:39pm
The real missing difficulty is the "everything is level 99" difficulty (or at least scale to the player), once you beat the game its silly running around killing everything in one hit.
