[Spoilers] type-E androids and details from replaying
So I was watching a youtuber playthrough the game after I finished it and its amazing the hints and foreshadowing this game gives without anyone picking up on it.

In route B you learn about a type-E android who killed her friend (you know like another android we know that ends up killing her friend.) But if you remember really hard to route A 2B got a mission from the commander to kill several deserters, now it doesn't seem like much at the time but after the amnesiac tells 9S that her missions are to kill deserters, boom it clicked.

Also random detail: At the start of the game 7E is one of the androids in 2B's squad; which is odd as no other type-E android has a public designation.

So I was just wondering if anybody else saw any cool foreshadowing of the later story that you didn't pick up on in the first go.

"Pascal fixed the female android, and the couple has reunited. They are also still insistent on resetting their memories. The female android was trying to modify the male android's personality to be more to her liking. This is the sixth time she's reformatted him.
...
If you agree to reset them, the male android will go first, and you soon learn this was the girl android's plan"
So she had been reformatting her partner's memories all along and of course he doesn't notice.... Hmmmmm....

Yup, quest of course foreshadowing what 2B's true purpose is.

When Pascal talks about how speaking with words gives one many ways to hide one's intentions, there's a long pause before 2B responds, agreeing with this statement. I know there were others but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

I did think, by the way, about what would've happened if 9S told 2B that he had learned the truth about Project YoRHa before the final assault. She probably would have had to kill him right then and there. As a matter of fact, I believe that that was the entire reason the commander tells 9S the truth: she knew he'd go to 2B about it, and would then be killed, as per normal.

I also just thought about how adam is born from a bunch of machines giving up their conciousness to form one big conciousness. It kinda hints at how their might be an even larger combined conciousness for the machines. Or the machines dying to become as gods, to perhaps rejoin the red girls.

I assume the difference between 2B(E) and 7E was that 2B was needed in disguide because she was asked to oversee and kill as needed a still obedient android and not a publicy rogue one. We don't know what 7E's purpose was. Could be many things. Maybe 7E was the one supposed to track down the rogue androids from the mission 2B gets later. Maybe she was to oversee the current operation to see if any of the androids newly sent would become rogue. Or any other reason. Again. Onlly an assumption.

It COULD be that 7E WAS the amnesiac we met, even.

I do get the impression at the start of route C/D that 9S was expected to be 'reformated'. Why else would 21O treat him like a child?

That's another good point. It was never really explained why she was speaking to him like that, was it?

To be fair the operator is never called by name, it might not be 21O. Especially since she was converted to a combat unit, she is likely no where near the bunker. But then again the special prize in in 21O's room.

Dun dun Dunnnnn

I also just realized there is another one: When repairing A2's memory data, you get one of 2B's memories where the commander says, "normally we would call you... but we will call you 2B for now.

There's actually quite a few little clues throughout the game, but you're not likely to pick up on them on your first full play.

The one I'm still wondering about - when A2 kills 2B/E, the last thing she says is "take care of 9S". At first, I'm sure we all thought she was asking A2 to help 9S... but after learning the truth, could she have really meant "take care of..." as in "kill"?

This was also something I was considering. But I think, more than anything, she didn't want to kill 9S, so that contradicts what she said. And honestly, those very words cause A2 to stop attacking 9S.

No. 2E doesn't wish to kill 9S at all. She is simply ordered to do it whenever he gets too clever. It's even more obvious if you listen to her final message to 9S that she left in her crashed flight unit.

After finishing "Anemone's Past," 2B tells 9S something along the lines of how being in combat for so long and seeing so many people you know die can take a toll on you. After a pause, she says something along the lines of "One day you might understand." The delivery of these lines gave me the strong impression that she was referring to times she's had to kill other YoRha units in the past.*

When I first beat the game, that 2B/E twist felt unnecessary, but playing through the game a second time and noticing all these incredibly subtle hints have given me a newfound appreciation for it.

*Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the reveal at the end seemed to really imply that 2B/E had killed 9S models prior to the events of the game. Even if I'm wrong, the delivery still seems to imply to me that she knows she'll probably have to kill him at some point.
