How to change pod programs fast?

So when you press ← or→ on d-pad it shows your pod program, this however dont change them on fly for me. Am i doing somthing wrong, or its intentional? its such a pain in the but to go through all menus just to select another program... (
I use wired x360 controller btw.

Just put a different program on different pods. When you want a particulat program use arrows to switch to the pod with that program on it.
There is no way to change programs without going into the menu, you can only change pods quickly with the d-pad arrows.

You don't really switch between "pod programs", but switch between "pods". You start the game off with only Pod A.

That just stupid descission, because i've on my 2nd playthrough and yet to find any other pods, but it would help drasticaly to change my 10+ programs for pod on a fly. Thats ♥♥♥ developers for you, TF I expect... ┐( ˘ ､ ˘ )┌

Same here, I just randomly found an abandoned pod in the desert in the A2 story.
I think it's just intentional, I see hostiles in a certain situation, I pause, adjust my loadouts, use Enhancements items, and then charge the enemy. With Auto Use Item I don't even have to pause if I get hit.

The game literally tells you where to find other pods, maybe pay attention to in game dialogue.

Talk to NPCS in the bunker to get a hint as to where the pods might be.
Also, pod programs and pods emit a high-pitched whine so you can tell if you're close to one.
