Stuck on Secret Boss *Spoilers*

Hi all,

I'm trying to take on Emil's first secret boss fight (the cart form), as 9S at level 65. I'm using a level 4 Ancient Overlord, the best of everything else I have, etc. Still, I'm having the problem that I simply can't damage him.

I've read about people doing this fight at a considerably lower level. I've tried doing an honest fight and no luck, he wrecks me and I do no damage. I've tried what someone else did, cheesing it by dodging and using the pod's gatling. No damage.

I had read that you need to hit the head specifically to do any damage, but I figured the gatling locked in would manage that at least a little bit. Am I missing something, here, or do I need to level up yet more?

He's lvl 99. You're not gonna do damage. Ever.
Level yourself up to 99 using the golden bunny trick at the amusement park. Will take like 10 min.

Not entirely true.
I did the fight on normal with level 93 and it worked quite well, took a few tries but i got it.

But OP this is an RPG in huge part keep that in mind before you attempt on fighting things 30 or so levels above you and wonder why you can't do much to them.

I know it's an RPG, but as I said, numerous people were talking about having done this a fair bit below level 99. I was just checking that I wasn't doing anything wrong.

I beat him with 2B around lvl 83 on Normal. Couldn't take him on Hard because the bouncing heads he fills the cave with would kill me with one hit. 65 is most probably too low for him.

Yeah I managed to get pretty far at a low level like that, but eventually he has this explosion move when his health gets under 30% or so, and that'll pretty much one-hit KO you. So you're probably wasting your time anyway. I'd come back at a much higher level. ;)

Set all 3 of your pods to have magic shield ability (so you only have to deal with his physical hits while ignoring his heads), equip chips that reduce the pod ability cooldown, and dodge spam+hack your way to victory using 9S. The pods should pretty much always be off cooldown doing that.

I killed him at 60. And by me I mean one of the millions of dead player corpses I repaired killed emil solo

Get critical up, use salves, profit.

Made him kill himself on normal difficulty with vengeance and damage absorb.

Its the hardest boss fight in the game, especially on hard. Cause he 1 hit kills on hard. His projectiles made me dizzy.

If you don't mind losing you pride go easy mode and equip the auto chips (that also reduces his level to 80)
