[spoilers] Ending D credits - Help?

So I played through ending C yesterday and whooped 9S's butt as A2. I got the chapter select and now I want to finish of some side quests.

Today I replayed that bossfight as 9S just to see the different ending. I said I'd go with Adam and Eve, and then during the Credits the Pods began to talk about something to do with deletion. Having played the original NieR, I feared that they would delete my save file and declined.

Now I am back in the menu. Phew.

So Question is: Can I go down that route before I have finished up every sidequest I want, or will I lose my save file in the process?

Please try to keep spoilers to a minimum. I just want to know this one thing.

Yes, you can do the E ending without deleting your saves. The deletion request doesn't come until the very end, and it's VERY obvious about it.

I am a bit underwhelmed that Yoko Taro again went for the same parlor trick of deleting your save, but I guess not many people played the original, so it's okay to retread some old ground...

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised on how he used the trick this time though.

You have to make sure to leave a message for others to get asked to delete the save.
