I only upgraded mine for the trophy. I dont think its worth upgrading them, or let me say its not worth going out of your way to upgrade them.

I only upgraded one a single time in 60 hours of play time. Never really looked into how to find the specific parts. I don't like when you can't get items naturally from playing the game.

I didn't upgrade any and now that I'm wrapping up my 100% I'm doing the last one and I really wished I had upgraded pod C and pod B much much earlier in the game. By the time I realized how much easier things would have been I was already level 99 and far past done.

Gatling MAX level pretty good. But u able to get at level 60 after E-end. For farming purpose. So, yeah. Just but trophy for 50k G.

Not everyone is comfortable with that though. Completionists do what they do you know? I am one and it really didn't take me long to grind up mats. I got everything I needed for pods A and B naturally playing. C I need to go farm mats and it took me about 20 minutes for what I needed left over. I just got distracted filling up unit data to 100% (currently 98/99) so I forgot to go pick up the powerup part m I need.

I only upgraded mine after finishing the game (In it's entirety) and seeing that there was an achievement for it. Stupid Pure Water took me an age to gather.

im planning on upgrading them all on my second full playtrough. its not just damage that gets upped so it can be adding some fun :)

Just playing without farming, I managed to only get the laser pod to level 3. This gave it a cool effect. When you stop firing, it shoots this massive wall of ... flak, that first bounces around then targets any nearby enemies. It's not that damaging and misses a lot, but it's cool to watch and is not a bad attack considering you don't have to do anything special to trigger it.

You get 3 of S and M and inifnite of L. You get one S from the first golden brother (the small gold robot in the city ruins, he only "dies" after you kill the 2 big robots so you have to go back to where you downed him if you took him out first"), one is a reward for anemone's past, one is a reward for beating servo (i think the level 60 version but i can't remember).

Ms are all in locked chests, one on the ledge leading from forest down to valley vendor, one in the copied city, and one inside the soul box (pretty hard to miss).

L's are farmable from the golden bunny but you also get one in the final dungeon and supposedly from emil's questline somehow but it never spawned for me. Bunny drops it pretty much every time with 90% drop rate up so its pretty easy to get.

I've upgraded 2 of mine to max... I need to find Pure Water and Simple Gadgets to upgrade the 3rd at all. I absolutely hate these RNG resources. I constantly coming from teh flooded city having found no pure water at all. (And to make matters worse now Emil is refusing to sell me anything but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chips when I need resources for the final weapon upgrade I need)
