Black and White in Bunker

Is there any reason it is not in color?
I suppose it is an artistic choice the make the Bunker appear lifeless and sterile in comparison to the surface, but I'm not sure if there is something else to it.

I wondered for a time if maybe the bunker wasn't 'real' - That it was just a big server in the sky, and the actual Android bodies and support craft were all actually on the planet, But that doesn't appear to be the case.

my thoughts were actually: It's in space, actually everything is dark but they can see some sort of filter. This theory was shot down when different light colors started happening on the bunker, not describing spoilers here, but it seems you are able to see some normal colors under that light

Clearly it's because if the bunker were in full color then players would spend way too much time staring at all the booty

yoko taro likes black and white. look at the main characters, and the main character of the first game. and there's grimoire wiess (white) and grimoire noir (black) from the first game. there's even a bunch of weapons that are black and white. the whole nier universe kinda revolves around those two colors.
