Died, no body to recover, lost all chips
As per title, and definitely not happy. I had a lot of high bonus, low cost chips in that set-up and I don't know if I can be arsed to grind them all out again.
It was enough to make me just give up and quit, and I don't know if I'll be able to go back to the game again in the near future knowing the same could happen again. Unless anyone knows of a quick way of getting chips back?

Load the game before your death it doesnt have auto-save.
You will get a lot of chips which you can fuse to get better.

Change to easy when rushing to recover your body next time.
Remember that you will lost your stuff if you just leave it around. Go grab it inmediately.

The wikis should have some suggestions on which mobs to farm for chip. Just slap your drop rate chips in and go nuts. If you get it up to 80%, they practically rain down on you.

Where did you died? You didn't die again before recovering your corpse did you? I died to a boss, went back forgot to retrieve corpse, watch ending, chapter select, corpse still there, got it back.

Your corpse should be marked on your map.

I died in Adam's Boss Pit while farming the bots there. Ran back, no corpse to recover.

Sometimes when your body would be in hard to recover area, they spawn your body away from the place. Look at your map, it should be a blue icon.

This happened to me once, but only that one time because I was stubbornly trying to beat the infinitely respawning enemies who were level 38 while I was a measly level 15. I didn't know they kept respawning at the time.

Yeah, there was no blue icon.

The ones in the desert? Same kind of happened to me. I stumbled in without looking and got one shotted.

I recovered and then insta-died without escaping 4 times before it occurred to me that if I selected 'No' when it asks if you want to re-equip them, I'd be able to ignore the dead body and keep my chips.

Loading your latest save (assuming you didn't save after you died) will give you your chips back. Otherwise I'm afraid there's not much you can do unless you can find your body somehow.
Yeah just load your save. The whole chip recovery thing is really weirdly implemented. On the only playthrough it would matter at all, its disabled so you just presumably get normal game overs when you die. Fortunately as mentioned it doesn't autosave so you can just load your save as if it had been a game over and boom, theres your chips back.
Happened to me in the pit with infinite spawning machines. Found the marker pointing to my previous body, but there's nothing there. So how is loading from the last save going to get back the EXP, materials, and new chips I found in the pit? So friggin' ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ right now!

Make regular breaks during your farming cessions to save your game, and you'll be good.

Appreciate the thought, but it was a rhetorical question.

Chips are easy to come across. I've lost countless chipsets during my playtime, most of them extremely good, but I was always able to scrape together another good set in a very short amount of time.

I hate to make a comparison to the Souls series, since it's so worn-out and meme-worthy by now, but it's like losing 5,000 souls at the beginning of the game -- it seems like the end of the world, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not even close to being a big deal.
