Where can I get black pearl?

I tried to kill every kind of machine available with chips giving me 90% drop rate. Is it obtainable only from chests?

i think you can buy them from one of the vendors in post game. i forgot which one, maybe the clown in the back alley.

Clown in back alley sells only normal pears for me. Emil don't sell them either. So I'm not sure what vendor are you talking about.

You have to use the manual scanner to find them, and I found most of mine in the flooded city. If you don't have the manual scanner keep progressing through the story.

I believe thing you find with Scanner don't respawn. You can also find black pearls in flooded city without scanner, but it's a rare find.

just checked, and the clown does sell black pearls. i'm not sure if it's because i got all endings, all quests or something else, but it sells both regular and black pearls.

Oh. I also cleared all ending but not checked him afterwards. And can't do it right now. On third playthrough I tried to buy items from him 2 times and didn't see black pearls. Maybe it's after all endings or when most vendors start to sell +2 chips

You can actually go to the flooded city just before you get the ability to fast travel. Its through concrete tunnel half way down the hole in city ruins. You can in fact get black pearls from normal map items there, just as mentioned, rare. I know one of the 9S quests rewards 4 black pearls, I think its the second one for 21O.

I can confirm that the amusement park vendor sells both pearl and black pearl in path C. I checked during path C chapter 16-1
