If reloading doesn't work to get you back outside, you're gonna have to do the fight more or less untouched. With a few attempts and good dodging it should be doable. As long as you understand how his 2 shields work (1 vs ranged, the other vs melee, though ive seen the ranged one blow up in melee, maybe because of shockwave chip), you'll get there.
As a side note, you can farm exp up and item up chips at the amusement park, on the rollercoaster (or all around if you dont mind attacking friendlies). This also has the benefit that later on, each ride is worth a lot of exp. In the early game it wasn't much xp, but when I tried towards the end-game, I was getting nearly a level per ride, and quickly ended up level 90 just from farming a few item drop chips.
Then all RPGs are boring to you because all rely on side quests and killing mobs to level up. That includes everything from your precious Skyrim to EVERY japanese RPG, and even to the Witcher.
Idiotic post, honestly buddy. Delete it.
For OP:
1- hoard + XP chips and try to get them to level 6
2- Always bring medium healing (more than 30) but also + melee and ranged attack AND defense.
3- If you don´t care about abusing the system, put the network on and let revived androids do the work. FFS I once got one so good the last Adam fight didn´t last even 3 minutes. It almost insta-shotted him.
There's a difference between RPGs that mix up the character progression or offer a plethora of options, and games that insist you spin the wheels. Most "grinding" is mindless, you see it doesn't require any kind of strategic solution other than the application of patience. That's especially the case in this game where there are three enemy types (short robot, tall robot, and floating robot) and three attack types (light melee, heavy melee, and shooting). Games like Zelda mix it up by offering you puzzles and unique enemy types, requiring you to think and re-evaluate your approach to every new obstacle. Games like Dark Souls mix it up by having an interesting and dynamic combat system. Many successful JRPGs have tried not to commute the gameplay to pointless grinding but that doesn't seem to be the case with Nier.
I only wanted to know if people unironically thought Route B added a lot of content to the game or if grinding on weak, boring mobs for 20 levels is good fun. If that's the case, then yeah I have to say people probably aren't playing this game for the game, if you know what I mean.
@Guidsmaster: I honestly don't know what good healing items are. If every attack kills you in one hit then it's moot. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Im lvl 80+ and had to grind only the last 4 levels. ...and that was just in the pit for the DLC thing. Not any part of the story.
Quit blaming your failures on everything else.
Route B actually adds a plenty of side quests, as well as different perspective on the main questline. And nobody makes you grind anything. If you do most of the quests you stay ahead of your enemies by several levels (except for some of shared sidequests in the Route A).
Turn off Very Hard difficulty. Problem solved.
The upskirt thing is an observation about how a game doesn't need to be good in order to be considered good. Just add some upskirts and the problem is solved.
Nice conflation. The topic was not whether or not its fun to play. Sorry you dont enjoy it but even if I dont see the golden age god of games some people do, its a great game even still.
You whining like a child screams low effort with high expectations. Another spoon fed casual come to cry for attention on the forums.
This game is far from hard at all and challenge level is optional. Your complaint regarding that is entirely invalid.
The upskirt thing is a petty attempt to validate your angst.
Even the creator was open about his motives for having fem leads with revealing clothes.
If you have done your research however, you would have found that his previous game had an exclusively male lead.
Though it also contained skant clothing on female characters careful examination of that content compared to the overall game would strongly suggest that was far from the selling point.
Alos, if T&A is what people want there are better games for it. Ones with customization of character and clothing. F2P games. Multiplayer and singleplayer ones.
The point you seem to be trying to ham fist into reality is feeble and childish.
Dude the point is, your bad reasons exists in way too many games. FFS, tell us what do you think a good game is.
BTW even I, who really like this game, admit it has its flaws, but those are
1- The extremelly repetitive flight scenes with only 3 enemy types
2- Hilarious faces of NPCs with Playstation 1 level of animation
3- Making people learn from the Internet obscure moves to reach secrets and weapons.
4- The android recovery system is broken as ♥♥♥♥ and makes battles versus some bosses a joke, not to mention bosses don´t level properly.
The combat versus standard enemies is grindy? Yes. But there are MUCH worse cases and at least here fights are over in a matter of seconds. I didn´t play Skyrim, because I´ve played Oblivion and Morrowind and honestly, I didn´t even bother to finish Morrowind. Cliff racers, lelz. ♥♥♥♥ them.
Another option is to embrace the one-shottedness and just go full dps chips. If you kill it faster, you'll have to dodge stuff for less time.
All this is assuming your save file lets you reload outside of the pit, or that you have items available.
Otherwise, just lower the difficulty for that fight.
As a side note, it may be safer to use your best chip sets only for boss fights since you can almost always safely retrieve your items at the start of the fight, whereas it's easy to die consecutively and lose your chips out in the open.
If Im remembering correctly those particular bosses have counter attacks to specific offensive moves.
Honestly, Hard is indeed Hard. It requires smart use of items and having all 3 pods with pod switching, and using programs all the time. Using Gatling laser only will be... frustrating. The Melee shield blocks even attacks from Adam and Eve and is great to slash them a good bit.
My gamepad controls:
LT/2 - heavy attack
RT/2 - light attack
R3 - evade
Note:
I beat it on normal difficulty @ Lv. ~22 and it was very fast. What made a huge difference was changing my control.
Thanks, and apologies, in advance. o7
