I tend to get around great distances by:
Double Jump > Pod Throw(Shift + Space on KB default) > Dodge Forward > Hold Space to grab pod and then attack while holding the pod to do the spin kick thingy.
Oh ♥♥♥♥ you can do the pod throw after a double jump? I did not actually know that. I didn't think to try either. I'm going to be having some fun with that when I finish work.
On the Xbox 360 controller you press jump and the pod fire button at the same time so it'd be A+RB. At least that's how I do it.
A good long distance jump would be: launcher (jump, then heavy attack quickly, preferrably with a spear) -> dash -> second jump -> pod glide -> pod glide attack -> dash -> Mirage (pod program) -> dash, though I'm positive you can get there even without Mirage.
I got the chests! Thanks everyone and hope you all have great days.
Pod throw is also a homing attack if there is a nearby enemy targeted. So you can even use it for closing distance for the lulz. It is funny to see your character headbutt into a machine.
