It's 99% the same, with a few (quite literally) random cutscenes thrown in until the end where a few new story tidbits are released.
The 3rd playthough resumes where the 1st and 2nd leave off. Just throw the difficulty down to Easy and let the game play itself for the 2nd playthrough - it's pretty much the exact same game again for 5-6 hours.
9S's campaign (Route B) has plenty of additional exposition and story bits, and a new set of sub-quests. Sequences where 9S is separated from 2B also play out differently.
Did i ♥♥♥♥ up? I thought I could save them up for later, after beating the main missions.
So do I just continue playing on the old save state (and play as 9S) or do I have to start a new one to get the other routes?
The ball head = Emil and the red haired twins Popula and Devola are from Nier 1 if you want to know more watch a story video about the first Nier game to know what they've done in their past.
Afther the third playthrough you can, like the others already said, chose chapters at the transport stations or from main menu to do side quests.
You must have never used chips if you would ask about leveling and such. As soon as I started B, I noticed that my shockwave, healing, and dodge chips were still on. AFAIK everything you bought or leveled is kept.
I have been told A2, Emil, and the twins appear more later.
Game is damn great but this ending is sad.. Well, hope the next ones will be better.
I don't know what you were expecting, but ending A turned out about as well as possible. Some of the foreshadowing around A2 does not inspire confidence in me.
