Any use of sound wave chip?
IDK how it works.

I heard somewhere that it was useful for fishing. But I really don't know.
Well, it displays sound waves from music, to voice to anything at all. That's just it, i guess. I don't think it has any special function.
Pretty much a troll item to get you to waste 5000G. The fishing chip is equally useless.
I have heard it helps to find other pods and pod programs which emits special sound waves,
Pods emit a distress signal that is not tied to sound. I found the desert pod because it was already marked on my map.
The desert pod gets tracked anyway for... some reason, the third pod you can get tho... well I found it, but no thanks to the sound wave chip, lemme tell ya. I'll be honest, I had to look it up, the sound wave chip did NOTHING helpful to even remotely notify me about something odd around me. I thought it would at least help track hidden items without having to keep the scanner up all the damn time, but nope, it doesn't help even with that.
I have to agree and disagree with everyone here. Yeah the card is useless from any type of useful aspect but it adds and aesthetic to the game to give it more of a android feel. If I ever have a free slot I put it in.

So the other pod doesn't even emit a signal at all? I have't reached the lower levels of the map because I'm trying to get most of the upper stuff done first. When I found the desert pod, it showed first as a side quest icon on map. When I got closer, it expanded into an active side quest area (the red pixelated circle). Looked around and there it was.

It's MEANT to emit a signal, like a really high pitched noise, but I couldn't hear shìt. The sound chip is supposed to make it obvious when you're near such a noise, to help hearing-impaired people, but it did nothing at all, it waved in its usual unremarkable way like it always does.

It sucks because the third pod is actually the best in the game, for me, while the one you get in the desert is absolute trash.

I see, and I agree on the missile pod. Misses most of the time on common targets (even semi large ones) and for missiles, their damage are trash. It's only good to feed more hammers to the charged attack, or to bring another program for when needed.

The squeal that the pods make is such a high pitch that it's almost like the noise a CRT television makes that a lot of people can't hear, so I assumed the chip was for helping with that. I guess not.

I only hope the half wit inventor does not troll me also - I already have 70000 bucks invested in him and all he gives me seems like crap.
Invest more. :3

I mean, it IS for helping with that, but if it helps I have no idea how. The graph didn't change in any remarkable way when I was close to the pod, I looked up where it is and actively stood there with the sound chip active and the wave pattern kept behaving as usual, gently bobbing to the BG music and the footsteps.
Yeah it's not really useful, but it's kind of cool to see in the upper right. All my chips that aren't part of the OS cost 4 or more, so if I have 3 slots available I usually use the Sound chip
It's a gimmick that dispalys soundwaves on the HUD. Just like removing your OS chip. It does however work for the music, voices and sound. It displays them properly. It's like the voice changer you get after beating the game.
