"Prohibited Words?"

I've used the name "Sei" on like everything for well over 15 years... but this is the first time trying to use it in a game and being given that I am useing Prohibited Words and must choose a diffrent name.

What makes "Sei" prohibited?

Yeah, their list is very weird, I tried Antitype like my name here and it was prohibited as well. I guess they blocked anything remotely connected to religion. In any case this is the first time that word is blocked, they went way overboard on the blocking if kanji based words even block latin/roman based words which don't have the same meaning or any meaning at all.

In your case, it might be that "t.it" is blocked.
Japanese developers tend to have soem very strange and draconian censorship.
EDIT: Oh my, it's even blocked on Steam. I guess Steam doesn't like small birds?

I don't think the developers realised that in Europe and the US the agencies responsible for gaming don't rate the online functions of games meaning you technically don't need to block bad words as any online components isn't covered by the games official age rating.

Since when 死 has reading sei? It's shi. Tons of wordplay jokes has origin in "shi". They even prefer to read "4" as yon than shi, because of it.

LOL, I didn't even think of that, that might be it indeed. But their filter isn't very smart, I can type antitype unfiltered on steam, but can't do the same with tit.

Reminds me of Phantasy Star Online and how you could not type out the word basement, even if you put spaces in or whatever. So many things escaped the censor but that one was just unacceptable lol.
