The Recluse Stays Home (spoilers)

On route B and doing the second recluse quest, but it seems impossible. Watched a vid on youtube, and the hacking part was shooting alot faster.

Is there something I'm missing? Is there a way to boost hacking speed?

Turn off AA/vsync and/or lower your graphics settings, that should help get you closer to the correct firing speed.

Gotta love that even with the minimum graphics settings, I can't actually beat this mission. Having a perfect run of the block maze still leaves me with at best 8 seconds to get through all the barriers.

Now to try and find a workaround to a graphical slowdown making parts of the game literally impossible to beat.

As posted, perhaps it's related to your fps. I managed to clear the quest (with just a tiny fraction of time remaining).

It's confirmed related to FPS. Used the unofficial patch to get the game to true fullscreen and hacking has sped up by like 30%.

I'm on a 5yo pc (HD7970 vid card) and was playing at 4k and I could barely make it to the first wall. Was rather easy after turning it down to 1080p and turning off vsync and other options. Looks like crap by comparison but unless you can do 60-100fps you will never be able to shoot fast enough to beat it. If you have a really lousy $20 vid card forget hacking altogether.
