save file gone

~6 hours in, booted up today, no continue option on title menu, only new game. had loaded multiple times without incident, quick-saved last night and quit out as per usual. don't know if this is an issue with the game itself or with steam cloud, but it's inexcusable either way.

Same thing happened to me. Crazy thing is, I CAN see the savefiles in the save file folder and I CAN see the continue button when I log into another steam account with family sharing enabled.

If you have logged in on a second account on your computer, your save files might have transfered to your other account, even though they are both in the same exact save folder. If this happened to you, you can use this:

To recover your old saves : "If you would like to use your save files again, simply treat your own backup save folder as the one shared by someone else and repeat the very same steps stated below."

So just go into C:\Users\YourName\Documents\my games\NieR_Automata ,back up all the files there into another map and then follow the steps from the linked page as if your save files where someone elses.

I had an issue where i almost lost my save. I saved in a new area and my save file disappeared. I lucked out because i realized this before exiting (This was on PC). I found out the reason was because my C drive was full and although i had the the steamapp folder in my D drive which had a lot more space, my save files automatically save to my C drive. I solved the issue by moving some files out of my C drive to clear some space. Hope this helps.
