GTX 980/970 owners, lets chat.
I'm looking for information from people who have similar specs to my PC to see if my problems are common with others. Since 1070s and 1080s have more vram, im not really looking for input from those types of card owners.
I have a 980 with i-7 2600 3.4 GHz processor and 16gb ram.
I currently have problems with major pop-in in wide open areas, and some pre-rendered cutscenes seem to skip a few frames (the 30 fps locked ones). Also sometimes get frame drops from 60 to the 50s in combat and sometimes mid to high 40s in wide open areas too. Are these common problems amoung this aprox PC type?

No issues here everything on ultra with 4x AA no VSYNC. ~60FPS all around. GTX 980 OC (stock clock saw me have as low as 47 FPS before MSI afterburner overclock) and a i7 6700K Stock.

you need a lot of graphics power to hold 60fps on this game even at 1080p which is laughable judging by the graphical fidelity, but you can lessen these issues by removing SSAO which fixes some of the pop ins and complete remove AA to get the most performance as for the drops to 30s during cut scenes thats normal with this game dont worry about it

GTX 970 + i5 6600k here and i don't remember dropping any frames. There are occasional stutters but they are so rare that i don't even notice them. Everything is maxed out except shadows (low) and AA (off). (running it at 1600x900 windowed mode)

my performance got literally x10 better when i removed AA.

The game froze 2 times on me during my first 3 hours. But past that it never froze again.

My specs..

Win10 64-bit
i5-4670 quad 3.40ghz
8GB RAM
GeForce GTX 960

Runs great at 1080p borderless window, generally medium settings though. Still looks great.

GTX 970, i5-4690

Turning off AA enables smoother framerates.

GTX 970, i5 3570, 8gb RAM. Same issues.

I had to overlock my GPU to have a more stable framerate but stuttering is still there and the game doesn't feel totally smooth. Without the overclock, the game would play around 50fps most of the time with vsync off and anti-aliasing off, everything else maxed and on. Fighting would spike the framerate even lower, like stuttering but not constant. Pop-ins also happened very frequently. These issues apply to both borderless and windowed.

I checked my Nividia Control Panel and found that Nier was not running through the Nividia graphics driver.

I've been playing for over 6 hours with no issues.

My specs:

Windows 10 64 bits
intel i7 930
12 GB RAM
GTX 970

The game played with windowed mode, 1600x900, no AA, 8x textures, low shadows, high graphic effects and no AO. and I got through the tutorial smoothly (unless I get to the cutscenes of course). The only thing I don't like, it's to play at 1600x900 and not my native resolution (1680x1050) on fullscreen.

i5 6600k 4.3ghz
Gtx 980 oc
16gb ram

I can play at a consistent 60fps with AA off because with 2x AA city ruins tends to drop frames down to 50-55 in certain areas.

GTX 970 OC'ed
i5 4690k OC'ed
8GB RAM

I can barely put out 32 FPS on 1920x1080 with significant slowdowns. Something must be wrong with either my system or the game.

MSI 980, i5 4670k (3.4ghz), 16GB RAM, 1920x1080 windowed mode, running on an SSD although not sure how much it affected performance.

My main framerate hoggers were AA and AO, disable AO and leave AA at x2 or disabled. Cutscenes were still running in awful 15-30 FPS ranges but ingame i had a mostly consistent 60, apart from occasions when a lot of particle effects covered the screen. I believe there was some stutter when panning the camera around (the city mainly).

The asset quality of the game is really poor, and its really jarring when you see a building block with 128x128 textures get its "high-res" version right in-front of you. I also noticed some volumetric lightning in a cave i found, which was comparable to Fallout 4's volumetrics on low quality.

I can't see this game utilizing much VRAM at all, its texture resolutions do not appear to be higher than 512x512/256x256 in the environment, secondary characters are using low-res textures and low-poly models at all times (with exceptions on some androids and main NPCs).

A 970/980 should not have VRAM issues in this game.

i5 4570 3.2 GHz
GTX 970
16 GB RAM
Windows 10 64-bit
Screen res: 1920x1080

I'm using geforce experience optimized setting except display mode which I set to Windowed and then use Borderless Gaming app. Game runs smoothly at 60 fps (except in cutscenes of course) with no noticeable drops.

Here's and update. With a bit of overclocking and reshade tinkering the game looks badass in 1080p 60fps on a GTX 980 and i7 6700K. Check out uncompressed images below.

Settings are everything on max with 2X AA and images below are uncompressed.

GTX 970, i7 6700 (3.40GHz), Win7 x64.

Playing on 1600x900, no AA everything else on high. Setting resolution to a 1920x1080 (native for my TV) or bumping AA x2 or higher = dipping below 60 fps.

Game white-screens periodically (overclocked or no — no difference) = screen goes to pure white, can still hear game working, can even save blindly if in the right zone, but then it's Ctrl+Shift+Esc time.

Also my fullscreen is upscaled 1600x900. No difference for me, tho, cause anything higher = dips, lol. Here's a strange thing, though — if I lower resolution even further, to 1280x720 fps will drop from steady 60 to 30+. Woot? O_o

*sighs*

Loving the game, but I'm on the buggy end of things, lol %-)

GTX 980 OC with i7 3770k@4.2ghz and I am getting about 55fps(at lowest/rare) to 60fps at average with everything on high(Maxed?) expect AA is turned off. Game seems to stutter slightly in the main town at certain areas but other then that it's good minus the obvious cutscenes.

Edit: I am on 1080p by the way.
