well im lvl 17 and going through everything. still havent found any, or beast hide for that matter D:

I dunno about pyrite, but beast hide is a random drop from killing Moose and Boar wildlife.

I found a pyrite near the tall building not far from the resistance base. You have to go up a very long ladder and the top floor is blocked by a box. The highest floor you can enter has a window which you can jump out of and then arc back around into a different window, from that window you do it again to a 3rd window with a chest and an item. For me that item was pyrite.

i think pyrite is a random world drop, i found it in the forest and in the oasis in the desert

He sells different stone types, but pyrit? U sure? I only know that it is very rare and I only found it by exploring every corner of the map.

I just got 3 pieces of Pyrite from finishing the "Photograph" mission, resistance member. I then got another three in the Forest just on the ground, all I needed for the weapon upgrade.

The earliest way is to finish the resistance quest to find the missing friend who was last seen in the material area behind the camp. It gives 5 and I think the photograph mission gives 3 or 5 also.

Long term wise its found:

Forest/flooded city on the ground. It also drops from higher level mobs, so your second playthrough it will be easy to find more.
