How do you use the Taunt skill?

Recently got the taunt skill and the command prompt said to mash L3 (using an xbox controller), but the only thing that happen when I do tthat is turn the flashlight on and off.

That's the point. You're blinking with flashlight in their faces and they are going mad. When it works robots eyes glows stronger (non robots gets red slouette like MGR: Sam DLC). I was hoping for some kind of animation too.
