So, What's The Penalty For Dying?
My body is on the map, I definately did die by some suicide explosion enemy or something. But looking through my weapons and items...I don't think there's anything different.

Your chips. According to an npc if you don't recover your body before you die again you loose the plugin chips.

Yup. But, as I found out, as long as you don't quick/save after you die (the first time), if you die before recovering your body, you can load your previous save, and you'll get your stuff back, like you never died.

Of course this also means you 'lose' everything you picked up after that last save.

Ooh, yikes. Chips is pretty brutal. Especially when I have decently fused ones.

It's hard not to sound like a jerk here but you say that like it's a huge find but we've been doing this on games ever since we could load previous saves... However on a slightly nicer note, of course that works.

I think fused ones stay with you? I know some do and I'm not talking about the ones you get in your new body, they're just standard issue chips you get by default. The game said something along the lines of certain chips stay with you and carry over when explaining how death works(I think I had to die for this to appear as a prompt).

Well, considering where you revive from is the same place you last saved, it isn't too far fetched to think that when you revive it would quicksave automatically. I know it said it doesn't have an autosave feature, but some games that don't have autosaves will still 'save' at certain points.

So yeah, you sound like a jerk, even with your 'nicer' phrasing.

I don't think it really needs explaining, a 30 minute tut that makes you restart from any point that you died (not a complaint, but if it did have the certain point you're referencing it probably would have been after the landing fight at minimum), an npc that stresses to tell you there are no auto saves twice with one in caps. It's pretty obvious there is absolutely no auto-save mechanism. And feel free to correct me but when you first find the access station it it's described as you to being the only way to save (not sure on that one, I'm half asleep).

So for those of you that did need an explanation on this, I apologize for the fact I find it very obvious there are no saves and I thought there was no need to explain it.
