There is are options that disabled it. I was annoyed too.
Forgot how they are called. There are 2 sliders in the Camera options. Something like Horizontal and Vertical Adjustment or so. (Camera Reaction to the player) Try turning those down. This fixed it for me.

Just turn off the auto adjustment under camera settings.
I might even create a thread sometimes actually. With controller custom binding :)
No matter how much you try to adjust, it remains prett bad due to one thing - negative acceleration. And you can't turn off that one. For mouse users it's a killer.
Another issue coming from treating mouse like an analog stick is during top-down / platform parts in which you can control fire direction with mouse - which requires constant movement like if it was a stick.
