I thought of the key thing, but now the button prompts keep getting messed up due to reshade.
still i just tap a button when i need to watch a custcene, or use the map properly.
Some areas the mxao looks a bit weird, but on buildings and grass it looks amazing
edit: i think i fixed the key thing.. i rebound shift to something else, seems when the reshade prompt comes up the game keeps shift stuck and wont unstuck no matter what tricks i tried
I find the best solution is to use in game AO and use Reshade for AA, that way you get no pop in glitches and good performance.
Btw, I tried a few presets that mess with the vibrancy/levels/colors and I do not recommend people use those, this game has a very deliberate art style that is uses which imo gets compromised by vibrant colors. It looked good at first but when I turned those off and played the game with default colors it was more immersive and unique.
MXAO's default strength is way too dark. I usually turn mine way down to either 0.50 or 0.75. You don't really need Rehade for AA if you're using the games AO because it adds a decent AA (at least at 3440x1440). To me the vanilla game just looks blown out and lacks contrast. I found that by lowering my brightness waaayy down I can get it to look decent.
I think the low contrast look is intentional, lots of old school anime films used similar coloring style. I think it works for this game and gives it a dream like/hazy look and helps to blend things together for more realism. Its kinda a dark game in terms of mood so it works in that sense too. I like it.
