No save, start over????

so you can't save at all through first bit and not knowing the controls well you have to fight 2 blade machines, die ....and have to start the entire game over??? wtf ?

took me 1 hour to reach the first boss and died. Then it ask me to start over to waste another hour. what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ system. Well people say that they buy the game for the music and now i see it is true

No problems with Darks Souls games but this is the most complete ♥♥♥♥ uninteresting opening, if the rest of the game is this then I'm really not interested at all.

The game's very first message is a warning of it lacking an autosave feature. You do have to finish the prologue without dying, but that shouldn't be too difficult of a task with the game giving you crutches in the form of more than 21 consumables and an Auto-Use Item +1 chip. Saving will be possible almost immediately after you finish said prologue.

If all else fails, play on Easy first. The Auto chips will get you through almost anything.

I tried it on Hard Mode. Got pretty far (to the first mini boss fight). Died a after a silly mistake. Changed it back to Normal Mode because dying when you get far then having to start from the bgenning kinda sucks. It's fairly easy otherwise, so I changed it back to Hard Mode right after.

The key is doing lots of evading, and spamming the hell of your pod gatling gun (So doing lots of ranged attacks). Hard Mode you die in 2-4 hits from most stuff. Normal mode, 8-10 hits. Very Hard seems to invlove getting 1 shotted by almost anything. Easy Mode? Huh, for plebs that are only in it for the story (and some booty).

So just beat the intro. The problem I was having was that I failed to understand evade. Evadeing will auto doge most attacts that cover most of the play area. So the trick is to evade just as you are about to be hit and the I-frames will have you take 0 damage.

Also try playing the intro in offline mode so you don't burn through your two hours

That's more like saving for an "ending" (actually a non-standard game over). None of your stats and progression apart from the fact that you got this ending will be kept.

The evade mechanic is a little goofy when compared to Bayonetta, but it does work. I failed on my first attempt too. On my 2nd try I didn't bother using the recover items since the game auto uses them when you're taking hard hits at low health anyway. That helped me focus more on the action instead of managing my health bar.

There's not much hand-holding here, though it's not impossible to get the hang of it with a little trial & error. I still need to work on my evade timing.

If you can play Dark Souls, then this should be a cake walk. You're bluffing if you seriously can't handle this.

You're not even trying come on now. The beginning is annoying when you don't know the controls but it doesn't take long to learn. Do you want to be flawlessly pulling off dodges and attacks from the get go? That's not how it works.
