Just kill the machines in the red area on the map. Should get one from them.

Just save and reload. There's a save point right near the area marked on the map. Just save, and then reload and it will respawn the enemies in the marked area, just repeat until one drops what you need.

I know this is a late response, but thank you so much for tip Moo. After getting nothing from the field several times [transport between Bunker and Camp to reset] I defeating dozens of bots elsewhere under the assumption that the gear also a generic drop. I had 9x and 3x of the other materials by the time I got one of the small gears.

Using the machine next to the field for killing bots in that specific area after a few save resets finally got me one.

I had 11 of the first item and 8 of the second grinding 90 minutes going from the spawn to the camp. Learning I can save load probably saved me uninstalling as well.

Thank you! I think I had this dame issue when the game released and now that I'm replaying it I just couldnt get the stupid gear to drop haha.
