Dunno. Could check the demo. Still, remember you aren't as close to the screen when you play on a PS4 as when you play on a PC, so textures could be the same and people wouldn't notice.

There is a bug with fullscreen that makes the game blurry try windowed to see if that is it.

No its just the game. Ive fixed the fullscreen issue. The game looks decent due to fancy lighting in certain areas. The world textures are all terrible on both platforms. Walk up to anything and inspect it (Especially in desert area(. Player models are fine.

Textures look aged but somehow comfy af lol
Probably fit with game atmosphere

Yeah, it has low-res textures, no shadows for anything but characters and buildings, sprite grass and trees. But it's not THAT bad, it looks pretty modern, maybe like something from 2006.
If you can stomach MGS4 or Arma 1, you won't have a problem with Nier. It looks better in motion.

Pretty understandable, given the decade-old standard hardware it was designed to run on.

There's a set of metal containers to the left of the access point in the Resistance Camp that look reeeaaal low-res for me, even in comparison with other object's textures

Yet for some reason it requires a current-gen GPU to run decently.

Stop spreading misinformation.

I think the game looks overall fantastic but if you stop and pay attention to environment details close range some of the textures looks like from PS2 lol

How is it misinformation to state that a memory obfuscation program is tanking performance?
It literally can't NOT tank performance, it's like saying 16X antialiasing doesn't affect performance.

Some companies (DICE) work directly with EA (who ordered SecuROM to be developed into Denuvo in the first place) and thus manage to make Denuvo less obtrusive. Some (Avalanche, looking at you) don't, releasing games that take several seconds to render one frame on some configurations.

A game ported from a dated console, with early PS3-tier geometry and scene complexity, with no physics worth mentioning and no other performance-intensive features has terribad performance on pretty modern hardware AND is packed with a memory obfuscator? I wonder what the culprit is! Any guesses?

Oh look guys! It's another 'expert' on the game who has exactly 0.00 hours gametime. Let's all pull up a chair and listen to his in depth analysis on how awful this game is.

I said nothing about the game, buddy, no need to be so confrontational over a plagiarized anti-tamper system. I'm waiting for it to get fixed before buying, since Drakengard's brand of craziness is absent here and NieR itself wasn't quite as outstanding as D1 and D3 to warrant an instant purchase. Could you answer the question instead of devolving this into a turd-flinging match?
It's "in-depth", by the way.
You are free to look up my playtime for other Denuvo-positive games, my profile is open to everyone.
