Auto-Heal on Normal?
During the first level I would auto-use repair kits when my health was low, now I have to do it manually. Is this correct or am I missing something?

It might be using a small recovery item. It tends to use the smaller ones before the bigger ones, so it might just be healing a little bit. Get rid of all your smaller heal items.
Don't really know what to tell you guys now, it seems like a weird bug if it was one. The only possibilities I can think of are you forgot to equip it, or you did put it on your set but have the wrong set equipped. Maybe if more people chime in that also have this problem we could get more information, or confirmation it's a bug. What difficulty are you guys playing?

i have the chip that shows when you get healedon (shows numbers over your head with a +#### value) never shows anything and the HP never moves after a hit that drops me below 30

I'm not sure, I suppose it could be but I just feel like I would have noticed it in 40 hours. You know when you get down to a certain percentage of health and everything freezes for a second as sort of a warning that you're going to die with one more hit, and the screen turns grey for a sec and everything, I always have to heal right there or else I die.

Having said that I now use a different chip that is sort of a health leech, where each hit restores some HP, and it works really well. Can't remember the name. But ya I haven't seen Auto Use work since the tutorial.

Wait, what? Can you tell us the exact name of the chip? That sounds more like the Auto-heal and not Auto-use Item

Edit: Nevermind, yeah I definitely don't know what's going on then

Do you use your healing item immediately after that kind of pause? Usually it auto uses the healing item a very short amount of time after the pause and not during. If you have fast enough reflexs, or use the pause menu to heal, the Auto-use Item chip might actually be a waste so it's not too big of a loss.

Also, I never really got much use out of the Offensive Heal chip that you said you're using now. It always healed too little, Auto-heal and Deadly Heal are my go to chips for that now

a good build to use if auto iteam is't working is this:
auto-heal
deadly heal
ofensive heal
shock wave
and that chip that slows time can't remember the name
anti-chain

thats th e build i used on normal i had auto iteam on too but i was playing the ps4 version but its a solid build

Ya I mean the offensive heal thing doesn't do much but it restores it fairly well when you're just doing smaller trash mobs to where you can pretty much stay at max HP and not use any healing items.

As for whether auto use is working or not I really don't think it's working. Partly now because other people are reporting it too, but moreso because the tutorial maybe took me 40-50 minutes at most, and I remember seeing it heal multiple times. Haven't seen it since in 40 hours like I said.

Auto-use Item +2,
gamertaboo Mar 21, 2017 @ 9:18pm
I'm going to have to go in and specifically try it out and see now that I'm on my second playthrough. I'll report back if it works.

ha, installed it on set type B and now it works... seems my Type A is bugged, It definatly is healing and the text message displays "X-size heal used)

COuld be my type A was broken from when I died in the tutorial and thought it wasnt equiped???

You know what it was Deadly Heal I'm using not Offensive heal, so it heals after killing each enemie not per hit. Still working on Auto Use though, I'm going to try Set B too.
gamertaboo Mar 21, 2017 @ 9:44pm
Lol yep it works on set B now.

To explain a bit on the heal chips.
Auto heal: Starts healing for a small amount per second after 6 seconds of not taking any damage. Can trigger while in combat so long as you are not damaged. This is in my opinion the most useful of the bunch because it's always a sure heal so long as you can hang back and spam evade. My current one is at level 6 (thought was level 6 but it's 5) and heals extremely fast. Coupled with a 2.5 second anti chain, it lets you retreat and wait.

Deadly Heal: Heals a portion of your HP when killing an enemy. You find these in droves in the forest section by killing the "knight" themed machines.

Offensive heal: This one gives a portion of the damage you dealt back as HP. Can be useful when your damage is also big. Useless if you are fighting an armored enemy and all you do is 0 and 1 damage per hit.

Auto use item: This one uses an item when your HP goes down to 30 or less. It SHOULD trigger the exact same moment the screen freezes and turns black and white.

Lastly, hoarding HP is very useful in hard but irrelevant in Very hard where everything kills you in one hit.
