does it normally take this long to unpack? (i assume that's what it's doing)
probably is unpacking, though compared to other, bigger file sized games, unpacked alot quicker than this. keeps failing to"connection time out" every 20-30 minutes. not sure if i could/should do about it atm

That is how Steam games are installed. It's not only this game. Steam installation system is ridiculously slow.

really? never had a problem like this before, usually a couple of minutes, or even seconds, never an hour

Same for me I was about to ask this. Game has been stuck at 99% for me for the past 20 minutes idk wtf is taking so long.

I thought mine was unpacking but I keep gettinga timed out message after a few minutes. Tried changing my download region but still a no go

its just because u preloaded the game it has to unpack the files in some more time as it does normally when u just download a game, preloading is so hard compressed and encrypted because of reasons, after release ur downloading the game already decrypted but packed thats the difference.

so sometimes its faster to download the game after release than before since decrypting takes about 30-1 hour with an ssd if the game is about 20-25gig (ofc it depends on the size of the game) also depends on which ssd ur using my calculation is about the 850 evo/pro

would it just be faster to delete the local files and redownload it, or shall i just deal with the almost 2 hour wait so far (well to be exact i've been waiting for 1 hour 45 minutes)

At the beginning yes, at this point no.

oki, i'll just have to deal with the wait now, just do something else till it's ready, never pre-loading a game again >.<

well depends on ur internet, but to be honest u already preloaded it and already spend 1h45minuts for decrypting it should be done soon u can see the progress in download-section (not the 99%) i mean the little bar which is filling slowly. if its just at the half of the full bar i would recommend deleting locale files via steam and download it again when ur internet connection is fast

the little bar is roughly 75-80% progressed atm

What unpacking? Started to pre-load the game, download finished after release though. After download was complete Steam showed "Play" clicked on it and a couple seconds later the game started
