Do pre loads need 2x the space ?

I remember GTA5 needing like 100gb+ when i pre loaded and installed.

I think all of them do. It seems to be a thing with Steam and not just with a specific game.
So for Nier you'll need 100GB when it starts to decompress the files.

yeah, unfortunently it preallocates double for DL then install.

A game's entire file structure is temporarilly stored in two locations when installing from a pre-load. That's why you need twice as much space.
