The game is compressed. This allows for smaller download size. It will uncompress during the install and take up the 50GB listed in the requirements.
For pre-loading you need extra space during the unecryption process for that reason.

You'll always get questions like this in every new release game for steam. My personal favorite is the "What time will the game release, it says x amount of weeks/days/hours remaining?"
Always good to see a game being not-ported. Haven't seen a good PC port in quite some time. At least, not that I can think of. I'm sure I missed a port or two in my gaming life.
Every game in the world is created on a PC! And there still are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ports.
